It's now May 4, 2010... we are in California... I just posted again to this blog and realized that I never finished our trip during the summer of 2009.....
Tuesday, August 4th we stopped by the hospital in Dodgeville WI so that I could have my monthly blood test (because of the blood thinner that I now take) surprise surprise they were good. I was sure that with all the ice cream etc that I might have to make some adjustments but nope....
We settled into a motel and made plans to visit Wisconsin Dells the next day as Phil has never been there and its been like 40 years since I have visited. The next morning was a beautiful day for a ride in the country so we decided to take only the back roads to find our way to the Dells. Such up and down, winding roads with beautiful sights. Felt like I was traveling the country roads in France again. BTW I have been reading my blogs journals from the Europe trip to Phil during our travels and i think that I am getting as much enjoyement out of them as he is.
Reaching the Dells we decided to ride both the Upper and Lower Boats on the Wisconsin River. Enjoyed them both very much. The Dells is really much more commercilized than it use to be years ago. The two boat trips and then another back country road trip back made for a wonderful day.
As my daughter Debbie was not due back until Thursday evening we spent most of that day getting our laundry done and catching up on things. Phil, of course, has set up his Wii game and continues to have lots of fun with it.
Thursday evening we drove out to visit with Debbie and her family. Bobby
