Today Gary, Alitza & Phil played music at Silver Oaks, a retirement center in Columbus. While there I went back into the nursing area and visited with Charlotte Suddeth, my sister Shirleys Mother in Law. She is, I think, about 95 and in very poor health, so I was glad to have a chance to stop by and say hello to her. Still very sharp, she knew who I was right away.
Coming home we found Gary's Grandson, Brandon, who has lived with them for about two years was in the process of moving out. Will miss seeing him but most of all I will miss the access to wireless internet as the router belonged to him and now it is gone. We are able to use Garys computer but it not just the same as being able to use my own.
In the afternoon Phil and I went to "the Greeks" a local ice cream & lunch place from our youth to meet Dale Burgan and his wife. He and Phil were in the Airforce together so did alot of story telling and catching up. His wife, I was surprised to find out that she worked with my mother many years ago at Bakkalar Air Force Base... Mother was at the end of her working years and she was just starting out..small world. I was so good and just drank my water at the table..first time I have ever been in that place and not had an ice cream...
Friday night we all went to the Elks Club for dinner with a group of their friends for dinner.. large table with 13 people.. I was smart and ate my supper at home before leaving and enjoyed my water while being sociable with the group.
I am writing this on Saturday morning as I could not get into my blog yesterday..so this morning I went in thru my Traveling Twin blog to sign in to this one. Will post this and then do todays blog tonight.
