It was hard to pull ourselves away from the Tour de France race but its time we start up north.... 2 weddings and lots of children, grandchildren and great grandchilden (4 we have yet to see, as they have all been born since our last northern trip in 2007) to visit with.
We have been race fans since 2004 when we watched the race (Tour de France) with great interest because twin Martha, with hubby Jim, were in France following the race and we kept watching to see if we could spot them along the roadside cheering on our own Lance Armstrong.... by the end of this race we were truly hooked on bike racing.
Last night we stayed Brunswick GA and tonight we are outside of Myrtle Beach in Conway S.C. Tonight we made sure that the motel had VS (the race channel on television) before we made our reservation. We missed out on yesterday's race but we are enjoying watching todays and plan to stay as late as possible to pick up most of the hill climb tomorrow.
Had planned to do some beach time along the East Coast but rain storms have stayed with us for most of the trip. That and the fact the my foot is giving me lots of problems.... even with it wrapped I have problems doing my walking. Think that I have a fallen arch. Oh Well. ... Will go to visit with Christi and her family tomorrow and stay in Myrtle Beach for the weekend.
